Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, more formally known as Donatello, lived in Florence, Italy, from 1386 to 1466. He was a sculpter, made famous for how intricate and vividly lifelike his sculptures were. Giorgio Vasari, another famous artist at the time, said,"There is a marvelous suggestion of life bursting out of the stone." when describing Donatello's work. He mostly carved marble, bronze, and wood.
